WORK EXPERIENCE

Work experience is an important part of a job. The more experience you gain the more effective you can be for a company. Sometimes it is good to a have a more broad experience of jobs when you are setting out on a new career path.     Project Engineer/Technical Administrator 5/99 - present

    Office responsibilities include network administrator for a workgroup arrangement using Windows NT. I also perform all surveying data control for office use. This includes data conversion, uploads, downloads and data integrity. All engineering work performed in the office is drafted using AutoCAD and Softdesk applications, which I direct and manage. Some responsibilities as a project engineer include developing and administering civil engineering projects, typically working with a team of three to four people. Types of projects include sewer flow, storm water drainage control, pipe capacities and site development in compliance with State and Town regulations.

    INSITE ENGINEERING, SURVEYING AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE, INC.

    Tiltle: Design Engineer 5/98 - 5/99

    After being promoted into this position, I have become much more involved in the design aspect of site plan development. Extensive understanding and use of AutoCAD R14 assist this. In addition to designing with AutoCAD R14, I also use Softdesk R8.0, and Softdesk Imaging R3. Design projects include septic systems, road and site drainage, site plans, subdivisions, town sewer system repair and upgrades, etc. I am also heavily involved in the Putnam County Diversion Study, a countywide sewage treatment solution.


    Title:Survey Instrument Operator 6/97 - 5/98

    As an instrument operator my experience includes using TOPCON Theodolites and "Husky 3" Data Collection System. The types of surveying I was involved in includes topographical, title, construction layout, as built, and control for Arial photometry. Use of AutoCAD R14 to draft plans from survey points accumulated from data collection system is also a part of my job requirements. I also researched Title Deeds and tax information at local and county level offices, for final plat positioning and land possession verification. I am also able to balance survey loops using Triad software.

    PREMIER CABLE COMMUNICATION, INC

    Title:Directional Boring Crew Foreman 6/96 - 6/97

    While employed for this company I was responsible for a directional boring crew primarily installing fiber optic cable. Responsibilities also included the quality and quantity of production performed by a directional boring crew. I was primarily responsible to plan and execute work tasks on a weekly schedule including daily production paper work. I also was in charge of training upcoming operators and "trackers" for possible future employment. During my experiences with this company I have become competent with four various brands of directional boring machines and three types of locating systems, including Digitrack MarkIII.

    JUDITH NITSCH ENGINEERING, INC.

    Field Engineer 3/96 - 6/96

    As a field engineer I primarily was responsible to oversee contractor compliance with their contract obligations through onsite inspections. Through the use of daily reports, I was able to track the quantity of work, amount of work force and total materials required and depleted. I also completed as-built drawings of the work site including record drawings of utility services.

Performed drainage calculations for the People Mover at Logan Airport. Calculation and design verification for commercial ship pump station. Develop and prepare site plan specifications for MA Turnpike Authority. Assisted field surveying of highway cross section and topographic detail for the Central Artery/Third Harbor Tunnel Project. AutoCAD drafting of design plans and details.

    Maintain weekly schedule using Primavera Project Scheduling software. Schedule includes information focusing on resource, cost, and milestone completions for a utility relocation project. Assisted in daily cost and resource documentation, to ensure budget control. Site inspections to monitor the production and material consumption and installment. Responsible for preparing and submitting pay requisitions to Mass. Highway Department for timely payment of completed work. Assisted Cost Engineer with cost and revenue of monthly reports.

    BECHTEL-PARSONS BRINKERHOFF
    CENTRAL ARTERY TUNNEL/PROJECT: Assistant Office Engineer 4/94 - 7/94
    Claim and Change calculations and reviews for the construction of a cofferdam. Payroll verification for correct hours and pay scale submitted from contractor. Enter field report data into Dbase III+. Assisted with on-site scheduling inspections. Other duties including computer data entry and administrative assistance of a field office daily requirements.

    Environmental Technician 1/93 - 4/93, 6/93 - 12/93
    Organized and prepared water, air, and noise sampling data for quality assurance. Reviewed sampling data to ensure proper compliance to government regulations. Performed noise monitoring tests to confirm contractors test results. Collected NPDES discharge samples and composite results. Conducted environmental inspections of permit compliance. Other duties including computer data entry and administrative assistance.

    ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY: Junior Assistant Engineer 4/92 - 7/92
    Compiled and maintained accurate federal storm water permits in Region 1. Conducted investigations concerning delinquent reporting of permit conditions. Assisted in the determination of company inquiries concerning class of permit and recommended application procedure. Contributed in the development for the new NPDES Storm Water Discharge Program.

    CITY OF BOSTON TRANSPORTATION DEPT.: Inspector 9/91-12/91
    Performed inspections of road construction throughout Boston. Conducted inspections of raw materials to ensure City of Boston codes are complied to. Maintained daily reports/log book, reviewed weekly by the field engineer to ensure proper contractor compliance.
